CEJA Navigator Program
The CEJA Workforce Hubs Program, funded by the Illinois DCEO through the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, provides free clean energy training, support services, and job readiness to build a diverse workforce. It focuses on serving individuals from R3 or Environmental Justice communities, displaced energy workers, foster care alumni, and others facing employment barriers.

Lewis University’s Institute for Workforce Education, the African American Business Association, and the Joliet Latino Economic Development Association are partnering to introduce the CEJA Workforce Program to the community. This strong collaboration underscores the program’s deep roots in and commitment to the local community.

The Bridge Program
- 8-week program at Joliet Junior College
- Basic Safety/OSHA-10
- First Aid/CPR
- Clean energy basics
- Next cohort: September 28 through December 3
- Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Job-Specific Training
- 4-8 week course
- Training options in :
- Electric Vehicle Technician
- Residential Energy Auditor
- EV Charging Station Installation & Maintenance Technician
Eligibility
CEJA supports individuals age 18 and older, with priority given to those living in R3 or Environmental Justice communities. These are areas that have experienced environmental pollution, economic hardship, or long-term underinvestment. Eligibility may also extend to displaced energy workers, current or former foster care members, and individuals facing other barriers to employment.
