Doing Business With the city of Joliet

Learning to do Business with the City is a process of registering, discovering, matching (qualifying), and submitting. You first have to discover what goods and services are being purchased (bidded). Second, check to see if your business is a good match and qaulifies as a capable supplier. Lastly, you need to submit a proposal (bid) that clearly meets the unique bid requirements.

Here are some things immediately do to become a Vendor of the city:

Register your business with the City (not required for home-based businesses), and obtain a business license (if required) by checking the business registration and business licensing webpage.
Check City advertising in the Legal Section of the Labor Record.
Go to the City’s BID/RFP webpage to review what the City currently has “Open” for bid/proposal.
Sign up to receive for E-Alerts (Electronic Messages alerting companies of bid) opportunities) for each type of bid category (13) below.

Opportunities| Engineering/Architectural Services | Labor and Services | Materials & Supplies/ Printing | Purchase of Vehicles | Well Projects
Search for “Open” BIDS and RFPS listed on the BID/RFP webpage and download the
BID/RFP documents.
Prequalify as a “Local Qualified Bidder” by completing the Local Bidder Application (if your business resides in the City) complete the Prequalification Form (if requested in bid).
If awarded a contract or to receive payment from the City, you will need to complete the Vendor Form.

Busque BIDS y RFPS “abiertos” que figuran en la página web BID/RFP y descargue el
Documentos BID/RFP.
Precalifique como “Postor Local Calificado” completando la Solicitud de Licitante Local (si su negocio reside en la Ciudad) complete el Formulario de Precalificación (si se solicita en la oferta).
Si se le adjudica un contrato o para recibir un pago de la Ciudad, deberá completar el Formulario de proveedor.
